Teen Sensation Owen Cooper Becomes Youngest Emmy Nominee in History

The 15-year-old earns a supporting actor nomination, joining a star-studded list that includes Harrison Ford, Quinta Brunson, and RuPaul.

‘Adolescence’ Star Owen Cooper Makes Emmy History with Groundbreaking Nomination

Owen Cooper, the breakout star of Adolescence, has made history as one of the youngest Emmy nominees ever. At just 15 years old, the British actor earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie. A win would make him the youngest male to ever take home an acting Emmy.

This year’s nominations are led by the workplace satire Severance, closely followed by The Penguin and The White Lotus.

Other major acting nominees include Britt Lower, Quinta Brunson, Harrison Ford, and Jeremy Allen White. In the comedy categories, The Studio, The Bear, Abbott Elementary, and Shrinking are all in contention.

RuPaul set a new record as the most nominated reality host in Emmys history for RuPaul’s Drag Race, while Harrison Ford received his first-ever Emmy nod at age 83 for his performance in Shrinking.

Winners will be revealed at the Emmy Awards ceremony, set to take place in Los Angeles on September 14.

The full list of this year’s nominees was released Tuesday.
