Jurors Reach Verdict on Four Charges Against Sean "Diddy" Combs, Deadlocked on Racketeering

Jurors have reached unanimous decisions on four of the five charges facing Sean "Diddy" Combs, but remain deadlocked on the most serious count: racketeering.

After approximately 12 hours of deliberations, the jury delivered verdicts on two sex trafficking charges and two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution. However, they were unable to agree on the first count involving racketeering.

The verdicts have not yet been read in court.

Both prosecution and defense attorneys have requested that deliberations continue. Prosecutors are urging the judge to issue an Allen charge—a legal instruction that encourages jurors to reach a consensus. Combs' legal team opposes that move, requesting instead that the jury proceed without added pressure.

Combs was indicted in September 2024 in the Southern District of New York on charges that included sex trafficking and racketeering. Prosecutors alleged he used his vast entertainment empire as a front for a criminal enterprise, coercing women—among them his former partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and another woman known as “Jane”—into participating in sexually exploitative acts involving male sex workers, dubbed “freak offs” and “hotel nights.”

The trial began in May and featured 34 prosecution witnesses over 29 days. Ventura, eight-and-a-half months pregnant at the time, testified over several days, offering harrowing accounts of physical abuse and graphic descriptions of the alleged encounters.

Combs’ defense maintained throughout the trial that all sexual activity was consensual, presenting text messages and other evidence to support their claim.

Once a music mogul at the height of fame, Combs—now sporting gray hair—has remained in custody in the lead-up to his trial. His legal troubles began in November 2023, when Ventura filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and years of abuse. That case was settled within 24 hours, but it opened the floodgates for numerous other lawsuits from additional accusers.

Deliberations on the remaining charge are expected to continue.
